Q. What happened OWA For WAP?
A. There are very few phones that actually need WAP content nowadays, so demand for the product became too low to continue development. The PDA version has always had far superior features. If you feel that you really do need to WAP version, please let me know.
Q. Can I buy the source code for OWA For PDA?
A. Many companies wish to customize these applications to reflect their corporate image, but buyers must also realize that I need to protect my copyright. If you wish to purchase the source code for either application, please send me an email stating on behalf of your company that you will not redistribute any of my code without my permission. I will then send you a link that will allow you to buy the full ASP source. The cost is currently $ 395 per application. You should only consider customizing these applications if you have at least some VBScript and HTML knowledge. Please note that if you buy the source code, you will NOT need to also buy the regular applications in order to have a fully licensed installation, the source code license is sufficient for regular use.
Q. Do you have a mailing list for updates?
A. Yes, just send me an email to say that you want to receive product update notifications and I'll add your email address to the list.
Q. Does OWA For PDA work with SSL?
A. OWA For PDA supports SSL, and you should be able to make this work if you know how to install a Security Certificate on your IIS server.
Q. What product upgrades am I entitled to?
A. Registered users are entitled to receive free of charge any version up to 1.19 higher than the one they purchased. For example; if you buy a product version 3.50, you are entitled to receive any later version up to (and including) 4.69 . Registered users of any version who are not entitled to a free upgrade can still purchase the current version at 60% of the normal price.
Q. How do I upgrade from the demo to the full version, or to a later version?
A. Just run the setup program for the full/newer version on the target server. You can remove the existing installation first, if you prefer, but it shouldn't make any difference either way.
Q. Can I add my own themes in OWA For PDA?
A. Yes. You'll find the themes definitions in the file named Themes.txt . Each line contains a theme name, a body colour, and two colours for use in table listings. Please remember that if you define mandatory colours in the Define.inc file, then your users will not be able to select their own themes.
Q. Can I edit the Lang.inc and OWA-PDA.css without purchasing the application source code?
A. Yes, please do.
Q. Can I use these products in a 'Front End/Back End' configuration?
A. Yes. In an FE/BE setup you will need to install the products on the Front End server.
Q. Can I use Integrated Authentication instead of Basic Authentication?
A. In a single-server setup OWA For PDA doesn't care what authentication method you use - it's a question of platform support. In an FE/BE setup, you will need to use Basic Authentication otherwise the FE server will not be able to relay the credentials to the BE server.
Integrated Authentication (IA) is a proprietary Microsoft authentication protocol, and is therefore only supported by MS Web browsers. This means that you can use IA with Pocket Internet Explorer, but not with any other PDA browser.
Q. Is there any way I can install the CDO Renderer in Exchange 2003?
A. If you have a copy of CDOHTML.DLL from an Exchange 2000 installation, you can use Regsvr32.exe to register it on the server if you place it in the Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin folder. Please be aware, however, that Microsoft are unlikely to support your use of this DLL with Exchange versions greater than 2000 .
Since many people come here looking for CDOHTML.DLL, you can get it here
